Project 3 Learning Outcome:
I chose project 3 as my chosen work sample because I believe that I spent the most amount of time revising this project than any other project. Because coronavirus is such an important event that was unforeseen by many people it made an interesting writing that could even be used as a reference to people in the future just like the narratives that we read on the 1920 influenza flu pandemic. To effectively display the emotions and feelings of different people throughout this time I had to make many revisions and editing to my first draft.
The differences that I could see myself making from the first draft to the final was that In the first draft I did not clearly explain my thesis and I found myself jumping from different points and it was difficult to choose a specific thesis or a claim to make in this essay. After receiving feedback from reviewing I was able to decide on one come the final. I believe I was able to engage on what is happening in the community now and apply it to a writing while keeping in three different perspectives and being 100 years apart. Throughout the progress I believe that this shows the growth in the ability to connect to the reader and connect things back using real world events. The revision process was difficult because I would often find myself going over the limit or rambling on, forcing me to cut some. I will be able to continue growing as a writer with more experience I get. Using the methods found in They say/ I say made it very simple yet gave you enough to be creative. They Say/I Say contained many methods that I applied like starting with what others say, where I would take what on person says and then apply my own ideas to build on top of that. These methods proved to be very effective and I believe it was one of the biggest parts in my transition from the first draft to the final.
